CAPE CORSICA HERITAGE INTERPRETATION CENTRE - CAPE CORSICA EMPORIUM - TOURIST INFORMATION POINT

The Cap Corse Emporium is an adventure to be experienced throughout the Cap Corse region. It brings together a range of objectives to promote the area's cultural and historical heritage.
During the summer season, there is also a tourist information point on the ground floor.

These objectives, supported by the Cap Corse Inter-municipal Tourist Office and its partners, are designed to promote cultural tourism, inviting visitors to visit the sites, highlighting the history of the places and their inhabitants, contributing to sustainable development through the organisation of leisure activities in cooperation with local players, and thus enabling the Cap Corse Inter-municipal Tourist Office to harmonise its reception and cultural mediation missions.

The Centre d'Interprétation Patrimonial de la Tour d'Ampuglia (Heritage Interpretation Centre at the Ampuglia Tower) puts the history of Cap Corse into perspective in terms of its various social, agricultural, industrial and maritime aspects, while at the same time presenting its distinctive geographical and traditional features, through suggested walks, itineraries and themed events.

The Emporium transcends time and space, offering audio walks through the major events that have shaped the history of each of the 18 municipalities on the cape.

The expertise of the Institut d'Etudes Appliquées des Civilisations et des Espaces Méditerranéens (INEACEM) forms the scientific and educational architecture of the Emporium, offering the very best in research into the history of the major periods and civilisations of the Mediterranean region.

Freshly rebuilt, the Ampuglia tower is now a must-see cultural site on the Pietracorbara coast.
The thick walls, the building's natural air-conditioning, house a tourist and cultural reception point open to the public in the entrance hall (originally a storage area and rainwater cistern).
