Richard Orlinski has been the best-selling French contemporary artist in the world since 2015. He began his artistic career in 2004 and created his first work, a crocodile in bright red resin, which quickly became an iconic piece in the sculptor's bestiary.
The artist draws his inspiration from pop culture, everyday objects and popular culture. Richard Orlinski quickly developed new sculptures, often animals, all symbols of freedom, power and passion. The result was electric works, with pop colours and a faceted style that toured the world.
Driven by the desire to democratise art by making it accessible to as many people as possible, Richard Orlinski is interested in all means of expression, and his art knows no boundaries.
Over the years, Richard Orlinski has pushed the boundaries of art further than any other artist of his generation. He has built his legitimacy in different fields, making him the popular artist he is today.
Works to be discovered in the region:
Bastia
Place Saint Nicolas
Lion
Triumphant, Richard ORLINSKI's lion gloats. Hundreds of facets materialise his lush neckline, spacing out to give his silhouette a sleek look. The embodiment of power and justice, the lion is the king of animals, a symbol of greatness and wisdom.

Wild kong red
An iconic work by Richard ORLINSKI. Mouth open with frightening fangs, pounding his chest with menacing fists, he proclaims himself invincible. But the ferocious beast is also capable of tenderness. The sculptor was inspired by the film King Kong to create an allegory of the perfect man. Who is the wilder beast or the wilder human?
Richard Orlinski questions man's own animality.

PANDA
Richard ORLINSKI's panda is made up of angular facets, yet the roundness of its ears, muzzle and belly are clearly visible. These facets create zones of light and shadow, reminiscent of his two-tone coat. Richard ORLINSKI highlights the strength of this wild mammal, but also its exceptional gentleness. He depicts it seated, massive, peacefully eating a branch of bamboo, indifferent to the threat hanging over it.

CAMPU CANICCIU
WILD KONG Open
This Kong stands in lace-effect stainless steel, combining raw power with sculptural delicacy. With its mouth open and its fists pounding its torso, this King Kong-inspired creature embodies invincible strength but also a capacity for tenderness - a duality that, for the artist, symbolises the ideal man.
San Martino di Lota

HORSE
Continuing his quest to explore the power of our instincts, Richard Orlinski has sculpted a prancing horse. Standing on his hind legs and tail, his horse dances. Free and impetuous, its wild nature is fully revealed in this work.
Santa Maria di Lota

STANDING BEAR
This standing bear plays with the paradoxes of our imagination. The comforting softness of the teddy bear is superimposed on the fear of the wild mammal. Its body in movement and expression express ferocity and tenderness, strength and vulnerability, clumsy heaviness and grace...
