It benefits from a privileged position in the heart of the Marana plain, close to the mouth of the Golo river and the Biguglia pond. All the elements were gathered here to make Mariana a hub in the exchanges between Corsica and the rest of the Mediterranean world.
The archaeological remains visible today extend south of the medieval cathedral known as the Canonica. They correspond to an eccentric district of the Roman city of Mariana. Visit in season.
