BIGUGLIA POND NATURAL RESERVE

At the foot of the village of Furiani, the Biguglia pond became a nature reserve on August 9,1994...

This veritable “green lung” of the region of Bastia has a surface area of 1790 hectares  (a body of water making up 1450 hectares) and the Department of Upper Corsica, which has been managing this protected area since 1995, ensures the protection of fauna and flora: more than 250 species of birds, nearly 350 plants, etc…

Site monitoring: awareness raising, monitoring of human activity, water quality, etc..

The enhancement of the heritage: creation of a museum, reception of the public, educational activities for schoolchildren, free guided tours on request, etc

Also available: L’ ECOMUSEE du FORTIN space located in the heart of the reserve – Tuesday to Saturday from 09:00 to 12:00 and from 13:00 to 17:00 – 2€ and 4€ for a guided tour only for groups and on reservation from June to September.
