Relive the Liberation of Bastia, which marked the end of the Occupation of Corsica in 1943.
With a guide-lecturer, you will discover how these workers, craftsmen and shopkeepers organised themselves against the Italian troops who arrived en masse in 1942, later reinforced by the German army. During the tour, you'll learn about the upheavals in the daily lives of the people of Bastia.
After intense bombardment and fighting, Bastia was the last town to be recaptured from the enemy, making the island the first French region to be liberated.
