(Every Tuesday from April to October). If they are tired, we have the solution! The city tours in the little train are both fun and relaxing for their little feet.
Want to get a bit of height? Take the easy way out by taking the Mantinum lift from the Old Port to the Citadel. Continue the adventure at the Bastia Museum to discover the history of the city and take a break in the hanging gardens of the Governors’ Palace… It’s the ideal place for a nice family photo, with the city’s port in the background! Afterwards, don’t miss the Aldilonda, a footbridge over the water, which backs onto the ramparts of the Citadel. Extend your walk to the Spassimare, a soft path which will allow you to reach the Arinella beach with its playground for children.
At weekends, suggest that they go to the flea market in Place Saint-Nicolas to find a few odds and ends at low prices, and take a trip to the traditional local producers’ market to have a snack with the family and awaken their taste buds to new flavours.
A natural playground
Between the sea and the mountains, Bastia and its balcony villages offer a multitude of possibilities and activities for a family holiday. What could be better than letting yourself be carried along by the waves, admiring the landscape of the Bastia coastline, gently cooled by the sea spray? Your children will probably love one of the boat trips offered from the Old Port.
From spring onwards, at the gateway to Cap Corse, the intimate pebble beaches become a favourite meeting place for families. The youngest ones put on their flippers, mask and snorkel for moments of snorkelling under the supervision of their parents. On board a paddle, kayak or even a pedalo, discover the pleasures of a family outing in the heart of the Cap Corse Natural Marine Park. The Arinella beach and the Miomo beach even offer inflatable games on the water in summer to share moments of joy and complicity with your children.
The sandy beaches of the Marana lido, south of Bastia, also offer numerous water sports activities; catamaran, windsurfing, dinghy, foil, etc.

Walking with the family
For lovers of outdoor activities, the area offers beautiful hiking and walking routes just a few minutes from the town. The abundance of hiking trails dedicated to walking and discovery will allow you to get away from it all for a day. And why not take a picnic break to share a moment of conviviality with your family. Birdwatching at the pond of Biguglia
Located 10 minutes by car from Bastia, the pond of Biguglia is one of the most famous bodies of water in Corsica. It is also a nature reserve! Don’t hesitate to go on these short walks along the paths of Tombulu Biancu with your children to observe the numerous species of birds. No less than 250 species have been recorded here! In particular, it is an excellent site in spring to follow the migration of oriental species which are not very common in France. Two walks are possible. From the eco-museum of the fortress, make a loop along the pond, passing through the Fornaccina park. And from the central beach of La Marana, follow the path indicated by signs. It leads to a shelter where you can observe the birds discreetly!

Leisure parks
The holidays are an opportunity to get together as a family, and in particular to offer your children some great moments of laughter! Three leisure parks are located a few kilometres south of Bastia to diversify your children’s activities.
Water games, turnstiles, adventure courses… in the open air or covered, these different leisure parks offer a wide choice of activities to satisfy their need to let off steam!

What do you do if it rains?
In case of rain (even if it’s rare in Corsica!), opt for a family movie! School holidays are also a good opportunity to take advantage of the various courses and workshops for children offered by the Una Volta Cultural Centre (outside the summer period) or the Casa di e Scenze (House of Science)
